Featured in Hero Complex Gallery’s “Spectacles” show. When I discovered comics in elementary school, it was a complete game-changer for me. I was a Marvel guy, and the characters, stories, and incredible artwork inspired me for years. Without being aware of it at the time, I’m sure that a lot of my passion for illustration came pouring out of the pages of these books month after month. When these started hitting the big screen, there was a lot of room for disappointment, but I have to say that I was never left down too much. In the case of Guardians of the Galaxy, I was never anything but pleased and blown away. The writing, directing, and acting was completely on-point, and the effect just kept me immersed in the story. The film came on tv while I was in a hotel recently, and I was inspired to just sit down and draw Star-Lord, so here you go.
